spray & go

In a time when the world seems to have no time, everyone is looking for a quick fix, especially when it comes to beauty products. For me, my biggest pet hate is moisturising - it's an essential beauty task, but there is nothing worse than applying your moisturiser in a morning, when your already late for work, and having to wait for it to dry so you can get dressed. However, I think I may have found the perfect solution to this problem, Vaseline Spray & Go.

It promises to give an even application with its spray fitting, helping to get the hard to reach areas, absorbing within seconds to leave a non greasy feel, whilst still intensely moisturising your skin.

These are a lot of promises to live up to, but I am really impressed with this product. It is exactly what I have been looking for in a moisturiser and for the small price of £4.99 I can't complain. Available in three different variations - Essential Moisture, Cocoa Radiant and Aloe Fresh - Essential Moisture is my favourite.

This is the perfect solution to your timely problems.

bargain hunt

sunglasses - moussy / shirt - missguided / necklace - topshop / trousers - french connection / shoes - primark

One guess as to where these shoes are from? (hint: they're not from Zara) Yes, I was shocked too when I was walking through Primark and saw these little beautys hanging on the rail; I'm not surprised they were the last pair left and it just so happened that they were my size - it was meant to be!

These are the perfect spring shoe and just what I needed to update my winter wardrobe. There not too much of a sandle - it's definitely too early to be getting your toes out - but they are the perfect alternative when the weather is nice to my many pairs of black winter boots. And let's face it, we all like to grasp onto summer and soon as we can!

What's better they go with everything and I am really enjoying experimenting with some colour clashing this season. For the small price of £6 I would highly recommend and the are super comfy too!

nail art

I got to help out on my first event at work the other day for a workshop with our nail brand Butter LONDON. Press attended sessions throughout the day where they got to try out the new Butter LONDON tool kits and practice their skills at nail art.

Below are some photos of the day which I thought I'd share with you:

Interview with the brands ambassador Katie Jane Hughes for Fashion One TV

And the most exciting part of the day, I got to design my own nail wheel!

unite hair

Another brand I had never tried until I started working at Purple and that was UNITE. UNITE may be a favourite amongst A-List celebs, but it has fast become a favourite of mine. Below are my 5 essential UNITE products:

7 Seconds Condition

This is my UNITE favourite product - perhaps even my favourite hair product of all time! 7 Seconds is a leave in conditioner which gives your hair the ultimate nourishment. Wash your hair as normal, towel dry and then spray 7 Seconds and brush through. Your hair will feel super soft. It has helped to transform my previously dry and colour damaged hair and it helps get rid of all the knots before brushing!

make-up essentials

Having never considered a role in beauty, I am currently working within the beauty team at Purple PR and I love it! When I started I was given these products to try and they have quickly become my beauty essentials.

Having been on a tight budget at university, make-up was one of the things I always resented spending lots of money on, but my opinion has definitely changed since working at Purple. It is worth spending that little bit extra on decent make-up as it really does make a difference. I've had so many more compliments on my make-up since I have begun to consider the make-up and brands that I use.

These products were always the type of products that I felt weren't really a necessity for my make-up bag, but I couldn't live without them any more - and I'm not just saying that because I work for Laura Mercier!

I have never used primer in my life, but I have to say it's a must have! I'm currently using this Laura Mercier Foundation Primer. I am now desperate to try the new foundation primer in Radiance Bronze to give my skin that added glow - this will be perfect in the summer when used with a little tinted moisturiser.

The High Coverage Under Eye Concealer (available this summer) hides all the black circles around my eyes on a Monday morning. It has a very thick texture so you only need to use a little and I would recommend using a shade slightly lighter than your foundation - I use shade 1 - as it really brightens up your eyes.

Last, but not least are these highlighters. These have been a godsend; where have I been and why haven't I used a highlighter before!? They instantly brighten up my face and give my a perfect glow for the day. I prefer to use the powder on a daily basis. I blend it in with my bronzer to create a contouring effect. However, for evening I use the highlighter pen as it gives a dewy look and really emphasises the cheek bones.

This is the final look, I would love to know what you think or if you have tried any of these products yourself! I may be pretty new to the beauty scene, but I really don't know how I have lived so long without these staple beauty items!

the london dream

For as long as I can remember I have dreamed of living and working in the Big City and I can finally say, the dream is becoming a reality! Having secured an internship at Purple PR working within the beauty team, it may only be temporary, but for now I am living the dream.

Earlier, whilst I attempted to sunbathe - I am maximising on all potential tanning opportunities - I felt very inspired. I now have a job I love, in a city I love and this is a perfect time to start blogging again.

On that note I will leave you with the perfect song for summer as I compile a list of the best fake tans. A list which will soon be needed if the weather stays like this; lets face it the sun isn't going to tan me!

man #1

My most recent project at uni was to create a new fashion magazine for men, which fulfilled all men's style needs whilst appealing to the typical male consumer. I have found that this typical gentleman does not necessarily like to read about fashion, so therefore 'Man' encourages these males to embrace the fashion industry instead. For all those who contributed to the magazine or helped me with my research, thank you and this is it!

To see the full version of the magazine click on the word 'man' above. Below is a sneak preview of pages from the magazine.

#makeascene

For the past week or so I keep getting nagged at work to take part in their latest competition which involves creating your own short film from their latest ad campaign. So I thought I'd give it a go and see what all the fuss was about. You have to choose 6 clips, the mood, the music and genre and this is all put together to produce your film directing debut.

Click on the link below to watch my film 'One Day'.

And if you like what you see, please feel free to share it. At the end of the day, I'm not complaining about a free trip to Sydney if I win!

beyonce for h&m

I'm always a little sceptical of the H&M collaborations. More often than not they seem to look a little cheap and don't really reflect the true quality of the collaborating designer. I'll admit it's a good way for fans to buy into their favourite designers collections at a fraction of the price but for what they are getting, is it ever really worth the money? However, it seems to bring plenty of success to H&M and with Beyonce being announced as the latest collaboration, all I can do is hope that this collaboration doesn't end up like the rest.

From the first photo the collection and Beyonce is looking pretty good! Can't wait to see the rest now.

zinke

Recently I came across this gorgeous swimwear website Zinke

Specialising in feminine swimwear and stunning lingerie, this brand is a brilliant find. If only the price tag wasn't quite so high.

Here are a few from the latest collection:

This last one is my favourite, I love the mix of pastel colours and the cut out shape. With it also be reversible to the plain blue, see the image above, it makes it super practical too. So all I need now is for someone to whisk me away to a tropical island for an excuse to splash out on some gorgeous new swimwear.

TOKYO

Earlier this month I went on the trip of a lifetime. I initially heard about the Tokyo trip in first year and thought, keep dreaming; never did I think I would ever be able to go. But after working all summer, I somehow managed to raise the funds and I could not let this opportunity go.

A 12 hour flight later, we landed in Tokyo. My first thoughts were that it was so clean and white, the complete opposite to New York or London. It was also so calm, considering it is the capital city, never once did it feel over-crowded. I think New York is still my favourite city, but Tokyo is another level. You will never experience anything like it. If you ever get the chance to visit you will not be disappointed.

Here is an insight into my week:

Trip of a lifetime.
