Dress Up

"Be daring, brave, unique, alternative, self-styled."

This was one of the quotes on the Topshop bag that I got free with one of the 'Dress Up' dresses that I bought from there and I thought it was a pretty good quote to go by!

I got the dress as an early birthday present, and it is gorgeous! Here are some photos on a night out at Propaganda at the O2 Academy in Sheffield where I was wearing it. Propaganda is always such a fun night out because as my friend said 'were all indie kids at heart' and it was a brilliant way to begin my birthday celebrations.

The Royal Wedding

Just how beautiful was the dress? Sarah Burton did an outstanding job. It was perfect for Kate, it compliments her figure whilst not only being fashionable, but very classic and very stylish. She looked like a true princess; absolutley stunning.

Victoria's Secret

Last week we had to hand in our photographic breif, where we had picked an American brand and described an advertising campaign which they can use when they bring the brand to the UK. I chose Victoria's Secret and these are some of my favourite pieces from the brief:
I chose to give Victoria's Secret a darker, sultrier and sexier look which I think would be much more appealing the British market than the cute, flirty pinks as it is in America. 'Meet America's Darkets Secret became my strapline which I think fits this new image perfectly.
Moodboard for my customer profile.

I chose Ellen Von Unwerth to be the photographer for my campaign as her work portrayed the style I was going for as she specialised in erotic feminity, and she would therefore do the brief justice.
Sascha Lilic was my stylist, I love his work and he has also worked with Ellen Von Unwerth before so there work would compliment each others beautifully.

This moodboard is to give an overall idea of what the campaign will look like. The women will look sexy and seductive whilst shooting it in a derilict warehouse/building site will create an interesting juxstaposition between the femininity and beauty of the women and clothing and the industrial masculinity of the setting.

Topshop’s Best Bits

Why is it that when I go shopping and have no money there are always clothes that I wish I could have. This was most obvious in Topshop; there are just so many clothes that I like. Here are some the best bits:

FR by Fashion Rocks

Fashion Rocks is a chairty which puts on live events, both music and fashion related, and donates money to the Prince's Trust. Yesterday they opened their first ever store in the world called FR and it was in my local shopping centre, Meadowhall, in Sheffield. The shop is full of designer ready-to-wear clothing, from McQ by Alexander McQueen, D&G, Twenty8Twelve by Sienna and Savannah Miller aswell as Vivienne Westwood, Alice by Temperly and more. Unfortunatley with it all being deisgner I couldn't afford anything.

They are also set to launch an online store imminently which you can see by clicking here.

The opening was amazing, they had a live in store DJ, they were giving away free Vodka Redbulls, had a stylist to assit in the changing rooms and all the staff were really friendly which was quite surprising.

Also, the store isn't just like any other store, but instead it's a new cutting-edge way to shop. There are touch screen TV's everywhere and yesterday they were just showing past Fashion Rocks events, but by next week you will be able to shop from them in store.

If your ever in Sheffield the store is definitely worth a visit as it is amazing, and I promise I will try and get a photo of it next time I'm there!
